FLEXI-GIRTH

Flexi-Girths complement our SmartRider UK Breakaway Safety Stirrups by helping to keep your saddle in place when you mount your horse, whether from the ground, a mounting block and especially when using the ladder facility on the Escape Breakaway Safety Stirrups.

Once in the saddle the flexi–Girth helps to keep your saddle in place, allowing you to feel safe and secure and enjoy your ride.

Not only do you benefit from greater confidence and comfort from the stability the flexi–Girth gives you, but your horse will also thank you for the absolute comfort and freedom to breathe more easily and be able to perform better.  This is due to the fact that the flexi–Girth does not have to be over–tightened to achieve stability.

To optimise performance of the flexi–Girth, we suggest you check that your saddle fits the horse correctly, then position the elastic section of the girth evenly across the sternum, directly opposite the saddle.  The 4 straps on the flexi–Girth act independently of each other and should be gradually tightened one hole at a time, evenly on both sides until the elastic just comes into play with a bit of a stretch.

When fitted correctly, it should be possible to slip your hand inside the flexi–Girth and flex it away from the horse’s side, thus making sure that you have not over–tightened it.  Once it is done up you would not usually have to tighten it again if you have prepared adequately before mounting.
